Add in the "Thawed and Locked" function that prevents the local mouse and keyboard from working, and it's great for during unattended updates. The ability to thaw and freeze entire labs at a time is a huge time saver. But since we currently don't use any of the other Faronics products, I've removed most of the Core software and just use the DeepFreeze Console. I tried tying DeepFreeze in with an older version of Faronics Core, but had some issues with the client crashing and the commands didn't seem to go through all the time. (And hopefully never will, but you can never be sure.) Some of their older versions (pre-6.x I think, or maybe pre-7.x) were compromised by a disgruntled employee who created a program that would "thaw" DeepFreeze without the password, but all the versions since are yet to have that issue. Since coming across DeepFreeze at my current school district, it has been rock solid. Working for different school districts, I can remember using some older products that used hardware plugged into the IDE ribbon cables, and some other software solutions that were extremely easy to get around. For fat PCs, too easy to reset a virtual PC to a default state without any additional software, DeepFreeze is by far the best solution I've seen.
